Slayden’s is a licensed MD marine contractor that specializes in riprap and living shorelines to prevent erosion. It can be used on any waterway or water containment to prevent shoreline scour and water erosion. It is made from a variety of rock types and can be used on any waterway or water containment where there is potential for water erosion. Riprap works by absorbing and deflecting the energy of waves before they reach the property. The size and mass of the riprap material absorbs the impact energy of the waves, while the gaps between the rocks trap and slow the flow of water, lessening its ability to erode property or soil.

Slayden’s also specializes in living shorelines. Slayden’s can work with you from the design of your project, through the permitting process, all the way to the completion of construction. A living shoreline incorporates native tidal wetland grasses to stabilize and create a new marsh habitat as a natural erosion barrier.
